Great Day at Virginia Beach!

How's this for an amazing sand castle at Virginia Beach?

How's this for an amazing sand castle at Virginia Beach?

Last week we went to Virginia Beach for the day. I have found that the best place to park is on 25th street right next to a 7-11.If you go one street over to 24th street you have a straight shot to the beach. On your way from your car to the beach you go right by Walgreens, Forbes Saltwater Taffy, the 24th street stage, and the Hippo Slide. Here's the kicker: There are bathrooms at the top of the beach!

I would suggest wearing sandals because the sand can be excrutiatingly hot. The new Hippo Slide is the world's largest inflatable waterslide standing 4 stories high and 177 ft long. I didn't try it, but it's $3 for one ride or $20 for unlimited rides. I like Forbes Saltwater Taffy because it's the only place that lets pick out the taffy you want so you don't get stuck with unwanted flavors. When you leave there are plenty of places to eat at around the beach or spend the rest of your day shopping at the boardwalk.
