Kings Dominion Dominator is World's Longest Floorless Coaster!
So what's the scoop on the new Kings Dominion Dominator ride? Here are the stats, plus a recent You Tube video.
The park's 14th roller coaster, Dominator is the:
longest floorless coaster in the world (4210 ft long)
tallest floorless coaster in the world (161 feet tall)
tallest of all world coasters (145 foot loop)
boast 5 flips
plus 2 minutes, 6 seconds of pumping adrenaline!
The new ride is located behind "Berserker" on International Street (basically, where the buses used to park, so it really "dominates" the park).
As the official park description notes, once riders are seated, locked and loaded, they start with "a short, twisted U-turn and climb the 161 foot-tall lift hill. After the 32 passenger train crests the top of the lift, riders are sent flying down a 157 foot drop, eventually speeding into the gut-wrenching, record-breaking vertical loop." Wow!
The ride ends with four additional inversions (note to the confused: you flip upside down four times, baby!).
Here's what it looks like (click on the "play" button, wait a sec, then click again...it may take a moment to load):
The Kings Dominion Dominator ride joins 13 roller coasters at the park, including Volcano, Flight of Fear (the world’s first coaster with "LIM launch technology"), Anaconda, Grizzly, Blast Coaster, and the Rebel Yell.
