Ready for a little trouble? Jamestown Settlement's Lord of Misrule, "grand captain of all mischief," will do his best to stir things up December 22 - 31 at a unique Colonial Christmas celebration. The mischievous Lord of Misrule is only one English tradition that is being celebrated at the re-created James Fort, near the site of the original 1607 colony. Warmly clothed historical interpreters will also be on hand to demonstrate traditional English cooking.
Guided tours of the outdoor interpretive areas-including a Powhatan Indian Village--are offered every hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., daily.
You can also climb aboard replicas of the ships the colonists sailed on to the New World and learn about their first Christmas as sea.
